The Dean, Faculty of Educational Foundation Studies, University of Calabar, Prof Anthonia  Inaja has cautioned freshmen of the faculty against indecent dressing, saying it is not acceptable anywhere around the institution.

Prof. Inaja gave the caution at the Faculty of Education auditorium during the Orientation Exercise for freshmen admitted into the faculty for the 2022/2023 academic session.

While welcoming the freshmen to the faculty, the Dean said the orientation exercise was organized basically to guide them on the rules and regulations of the faculty as they start their academic journey in the institution.

 

According to her, the orientation exercise will avail the students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Heads of Departments (HODs) and other members of staff in the faculty.

She urged the students to be serious with their studies to achieve their goals in the University and shun negative vices that may mar their future.

The Faculty helmsman further cautioned the freshmen to be wary of the relationships and companies they keep within and outside the campus so that they do not deviate from the sole aim of achieving academic excellence.

In her words: "You are here to be groomed both in character and learning so that your parent, the society and the faculty will be proud of you as ambassadors of this great citadel of learning.''

The Dean assured the Freshmen that the Faculty of Educational Foundations that the faculty will place their interest above any other interest, even as she urged them to prioritize their academic endeavours if they must graduate with good grades.

The orientation exercise also featured paper presentations from HODs, Sub-Dean and other officials of the Faculty on key issues.
