The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has approved the appointment of New Heads of Departments in the institution.

 

The new Heads of Departments are; Dr Jack Okon Showell, Department of Biological Oceanography, Dr. Antor O. Ndep, Department of Public Health, Dr. Pauline Uwanda Ekpang, Department of Guidance and Counselling, Dr Victoria Inyang Emeka, Department of Physical Oceanography, Dr Fidelis Unimna, Department of Social Science Education, Dr Mrs Rita Ndifon, Department of Curriculum and Teaching,  Prof Grace Reuben Etuk, Department of Social Work and Prof Regina Ella, Department of Nursing Science.

 

A release signed by the Vice Chancellor of the University indicates that the appointment is for two (2) years except that of  Professors  which is for three years.

 

Accordingly, the New Heads of Departments are expected to discharge their duties diligently by effectively administering the Departments to ensure optimal productivity.

 

The release also states that the administration will not hesitate to sanction any Head of Department who fails to turn in the results of students within the given timeline.

 

The Bursar is hereby according to the letter, advised to pay the approved allowances for the officers at their level while the relevant sections of the University are being informed to accord them the necessary courtesies associated with the office.
