About Mrs. Victoria Barrong Ogar

Mrs. Victoria Ogar Barrong is a lecturer with the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross river state, Nigeria. She graduated June 1987 and did her one year compulsory National Youth Service in July 1987 to 1988, at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto State Nigeria. She has been a part-time teacher in so many schools including, Usman Danfodio University- pre-degree students (1988 to 1990), Federal Government College Sokoto (1992-1995), Immaculate Conception Secondary School Bauchi (2010-2014). In 1990, 9th of august, she got an appointment with the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) as a Postal Controller on GL 08. Her dedication to duty saw her through series of promotions in the ministry. In 2010 she earned additional responsibility of being made the Senior Manager Operations for Bauchi-Gombe territory. She was also promoted to the rank of Chief Postal Controller in January 1st 2013 on GL 14. Victoria Ogar still had the passion to impact knowledge when in 2016 applied for the transfer of her service from the Ministry (Administrative schedule) to the University of Calabar (Academics). She got appointed as an Assistant Lecturer; however her quest to seek knowledge made her accept a setback in Rank from her former position as Chief Postal Controller in the Ministry on GL 14, to Assistant Lecturer on CONUASS 2, the beginning of a new career. To date, she has satisfied and is still satisfying her passion as a teacher. She attended Government Primary School Mayne Avenue Calabar (1968-1973), Adesuwa Grammer School Benin City (1975-1980), University of Portharcourt Rivers (1983-1987), Usman Danfodio University Sokoto (1996-2002). She co-authored some academic publications including, Evaluation of the Insecticidal Potential of Six Plants Leaves Powders against Acanthoscelides obtectus (Say) on stored Phaseolus vulgaris L.: published in Journal of Experimental Agriculture International, and; Comparative Effect of Acanthoscelides obtectus (Say) infestation on Nutrients of Phaseolus vulgaris (Linn.) and Phaseolus acutifolius (Gray): published in Parkistan Journal of Biological Sciences.
