Mr. Uket Ikpi Ofem joined the services of the University of Calabar as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension on the 17th of December, 2013. He was promoted to the rank of a Lecturer two effective first October, 2017. He graduated from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Agriculture (Hons.) in Agricultural Economics and Extension, second Class (Upper Division). He was awarded M.Sc degree in Agricultural Economics in 2011, and currently undergoing Ph.D studies in the same department with specialization in Agricultural Finance. His research interest are in the area of agricultural credits, rural financing, Farm accounting, and Agribusiness etc. He has been teaching, researching, mentoring and contributing to the graduation of students in the University. He is currently supervising one undergraduate. He has Co- authored six articles in both local and international journals and has attended several conferences and has presented papers. He is a member Farm Management Association of Nigeria. (FAMAN), Nigeria Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE) and Africa Farm Management Association (AFAM). He is happily married with a lovely daughter.
