About Dr. Udeme Akaninyene Umo

Dr. Udeme Akaninyene Umo is a Social Psychologist and a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations, University of Calabar, Nigeria. Dr. Udeme Akaninyene Umo holds a Ph.D in Social Psychology (2012), M.Ed in Educational Psychology (2004) and B.Sc. in Education Geography (1997), all from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She joined the services of University of Calabar in 2012 as Lecturer II after having taught in secondary school for many years. In 2014, Dr.Umo was awarded the National Academic Medal of Honour by the Afrinews Independent Magazine for her innovative contributions to educational development in Nigeria amongst many other awards too numerous to mention. Udeme Umo is a member of several learned associations including Teachers egistration Council, Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council on Population and Familylife and many others. She has attended several educational conferences, seminars and has published over thirty articles in several scholarly journals both national and international. Dr. Udeme Akaninyene Umo has written several books in her area of specialization of which her most passionate copy is the Various Dimensions of Depression and Solutions which has made a remarkable positive impact in the lives of many.
