About Dr. Udeme Uyom Udofia

Dr Udeme Uyom Udofia holds a Ph.D degree in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology from the University of Calabar where he has been lecturing for about 20 years now. He had his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Zoology (Animal Physiology) and went on to specialize in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology at the University of Lagos where he obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology and had served as the immediate past acting Head of Department. He has initiated and participated in several Research Programme in his field of specialty and has supervised several Undergraduate and Post-graduate research work in the University. Dr Udofia is currently researching on an effective bioremediation strategy for the restoration of hydrocarbon-polluted sites in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria through a grant provided by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where he served as a Research Fellow during his Sabbatical Leave in 2017. Dr Udofia was the Pioneer Consultant on Environmental Matters to Akwa Ibom State Government in 1999 and equally led the State Government to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of the Exxon Mobil Oil Spill in 2008.
