About Dr. Rachel Doumokuma Uche

Dr Rachel Doumokuma Uche is an erudite scholar scholar in the Department of Guidance and Counseling, University of Calabar. She joined the services of the University in 2004 as Graduate Assistant and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2017. She holds a Ph.D degree in Guidance and Counseling awarded by the University of Calabar in 2008. Her main areas of research include ageing, gerontology, women issues, death and dying. Since joining the University, she has been teaching, research and mentoring students at all levels. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised over five graduate students. Dr Uche served as examinations officer in the Department of Educational Foundation. She has published many journal articles in both local and international peer reviewed journals. Dr Uche has attended many local and international conferences where she presented papers in her area. She is a member of many professional associations including Counselling Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Society of Educational Psychologists, Research International Network and Reading Association of Nigeria. She is happily married with children.
