About Dr. Sunday Marcus Afu

Dr Afu Sunday obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric.) Soil Science in 1998 from the University of Calabar after successfully serving his Nation in the National Youth Service Corp in 2000, He proceeded to obtain my Master of Science degree (M.Sc) in Soil Science in 2007 in University of Calabar, and later a Ph.D in Soil Chemistry and Mineralogy from the famous University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2013. His job experience spanned from teaching in a secondary school (Comprehensive High School Irawo) in Oyo State as a youth Corper between 1999 – 2000. After this short spelt, He got employed to Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) as a Graduate Assistant in 2002, He later proceeded from there to University of Calabar as lecturer II from 2014 where He has risen to lecturer I. His research interest is in soil chemistry and mineralogy, pollution control, heavy metals and mapping of soils. He has been involved in the teaching of soil chemistry and mineralogy at undergraduate and graduate levels. He has equally published many scientific papers at local and international peer review journals. Socially He is a liberal gentleman with strong moral and ethical values and strong character. A free being who is social and very hardworking with a philosophy that is anchored only on the will of God Almighty. His specialization is in soil chemistry and mineralogy.
