About Ms. Rosemary Anietie Bassey

Bassey, Rosemary Anietie is a young innovative researcher with strong negotiating Power excellent communication, interpersonal and teaching skill .She possess a sound analytical mind and ability to work under challenging conditions with minimal supervision and excellent team building potential. These qualities help her early in fitting into other spheres of life. She had her primary education at Bishop King Memorial Primary school, Calabar, Cross River State. , Nigeria, from 1981 to 1986 where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate and due to her intellectual capacity she was allowed by her parent to continue with her secondary education at Edgerley Memorial Girl’s Secondary School, Calabar, Cross River State. , Nigeria .from 1987 to 1992 and obtained her Senior School Certificate and because of her love and dedication to academic she gained admission into the University Of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria in 1993 and graduated with Bachelor of .Science degree in Botany 2nd Class (Hons) Upper Division in 1998. .She proceeded for her National Youth Service Corps from 1999 to 2000 where she served under the Ministry of Agriculture ,Owerri , Imo State Nigeria .As a young Corper serving under the Agric Loans Board of the Ministry she aid her Department in recovering loans from defaulters .and obtained her National Youth Service Corps certificate. She joined Nigeria Labour Market since 2000 and had served her Country since then in several capacities. First as a young graduate she was an Agric. Officer from February 2000 to January, 2001 who help in setting up of farms and planting of disease resistant seedlings in Esit Eket Local Government Area. She work with Edward Edykimo (Nig.) Ent.Fire/Safety Consultant from March, 2001 to July 2006 where she served as a receptionist. In her quest for more experience she joined the Halogen Security Company, Illupeju ,Lagos state , Nigeria where she served as a receptionist with the then V- mobile Nigeria Limited from November , 2006 t0 July 2007 and was posted to Coca-Cola, Agidingbi, Lagos state, as a communication/duty Officer where she served from 2007 to July, 2010. Due to her quest for knowledge she decided to pursue her Master of Science degree in Phytopathology in the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria where she was given admission in 2011 and she obtained her M.Sc. in Phytopathology in 2015. With her wealth of experience and academic qualifications she joined the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria work force on 23rd November, 2015 as an assistant lecturer and she has since then impacted many students with her excellent teaching skill and currently she obtained her Ph.D degree in Phytopathology in February, 2021 and in same year was awarded TetFund Institution based Lead Researcher. She has remained committed and dedicated in service to humanity and the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria till date.
