About Dr. Reagan Bessong Agbor

Dr. Agbor Reagan Bessong joined the University of Calabar as Lecturer II in April, 2013. He has a Ph.D in Environmental Biotechnology from the University of Calabar, Calabar and thus the first Environmental Biotechnologist in the University of Calabar. His area of research is in bioremediation of hydrocarbon pollution and decontamination of leachate. Since his appointment into the University of Calabar, he has served in various capacities as Examination officer/ Academic adviser; Faculty representative, Allied Medical Sciences; Member Faculty of Biological Sciences Journal; Member Faculty of Biological Sciences Seminar committee; Post -graduate School Internal Examiner and Editorial Board member in several international Journals. He has over 40 published articles in reputable journals and 9 conference articles. He has successfully supervised more than 50 undergraduates students, 2 post-graduates Diploma students and currently supervising 2 masters students in Environmental Biotechnology. He is a member of several professional bodies such as: Biotechnology Society of Nigeria(BSN); Genetic Society of Nigeria (GSN); International Society for Development and Sustainability(ISDS) and American Association of International Researchers (AAIR).
