About Dr Princewill Ode Odum

Princewil Odum was employed as a Graduate Assistant in 2010 after a meritorious National Youth Service year with the University of Calabar. Princewill holds a B. Tech. (Hons) degree in Geography with option in Remote Sensing from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, for his M.Sc. degree in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems. Princewill won the 2015 'Honorable Mention' for academic integrity in Middle East and Africa. In 2016, Princewill emerged the overall winner in the Turnitin Global Innovation Awards and also, the overall winner for academic integrity in Middle East and Africa. Princewill is a beneficiary of Tetfund Grant for PhD research. Princewill is an ardent lover of remote sensing and GIS, which he teaches in the University of Calabar. He has presented many inspiring talks and seminars for sustainable development and application of remote sensing and GIS including new trends in the technology like Unmanned Aerial Systems and the Artificial Intelligence. Princewill has requisite skills in Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) as a trained and licensed remote pilot in the United States of America. He is also computer savvy on Windows and Linux platforms. Hie princewill has core proficiency in the use of Geospatial Application Software (ArcGIS , ILWIS, IDRISI selvia , Erdars Imagine, Global Mapper, Google Earth, QGIS, etc). He also has Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Database Management, Graphic Designs, Desktop Publishing, Project Management, SPSS, R, and Internet Applications. He is good in networking & network administration (LAN, WIFI, WAN). Princewill has published many articles in international and local peer review journals. He has also attended several local and international conferences where he made groundbreaking presentations. Princewill is an active member of the following professional associations: UN-REDD+ Technical Satellite Information Management System Team, Cross River State Chapter, Computer Professionals (Registration Council) Of Nigeria, International Chapter, Society for Conservation GIS; Association of Nigerian Geographers, African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment, Nigerian Institute of Management, EIS Africa, Association of American Geographers. He is married with children. Princewill is a Hardware / Software development Expert, who developed the first ever CBT application used for post UTME and Graduate School Admissions screening.
