About Dr. Pauline Kelly Ekuri

Dr. (Mrs) Pauline Ekuri joined the services of the University of Calabar in 1996 as Lecturer II in the Distance learning unit of the Institute of Education. She was transferred to the then Department of Physical Education (now Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education) in 2010. She rose through the ranks and was promoted Associated Professor in Sports Administration in 2017. She holds a Diploma and B.Sc. degree in Physical Education obtained from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1984 and 1986 respectively. University of Ibadan awarded her M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Organization and Administration of Sports and Physical Education in 1991 and 1995 respectively. Her main area of specialization is sport administration. Since joining the University, she has been teaching, researching and contributing to the growth of the University. Dr Pauline Ekuri has published over twenty academic journal articles spread across both local and international journals. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten graduate students. Dr Ekuri has attended and presented papers in several local and international conferences in her area of specialization. She served as Head of Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education (2014 – 2015) and Acting Head of Department of Extension and Distance Learning in Institute of Education (2006 – 2008). In addition, she has been serving the University as Director of Sport (2016 till date) and has also served as member of the Nigeria University Games Association Accreditation Team. Dr Ekuri is a member of many professional bodies including Nigeria Association of Physical and Health Recreation and Nigerian Women in Sports. Dr Pauline Ekuri is married with children.
