About Mrs. Easter Chukwudi Osuchukwu

MRS EASTER CHUKWUDI OSUCHUKWU joined the Department of Nursing Science, University of Calabar in 2014 as lecturer 2. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.NSC) from the University of Calabar in 2007. She also holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Science, specializing in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State in 2014. Mrs Osuchukwu is currently a doctoral student at the Ebonyi State University. She is a beneficiary of the study fellowship from the University of Calabar for her Doctoral program in Nursing (medical-sutgical) at the Ebony State University, Abakiliki, Ebonyi State. In 2018, she was honored with an award by the Nigerian University Nursing Students Association, University of Calabar branch in recognition of her contributions to Academic Development of students in the Department of Nursing Science, University of Calabar. The West African College of Nursing in 2009 also honored her with a certificate for attending the Human Resource Management. In 2018, she attended the 5th Biennial Conference of NANDA-1 African Network, Calabar. She alsoattended the 14th Scientific Conference/Biennial General Meeting of West African College of Nursing, Abuja, Nigeria 2017. She has been presented papers (posters) in 2015 at the Annual Conference of the America Public Health Association (APHA) held in Chicago, USA and also at the 44th Biennial convention of Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International in 2017 among others. She teaches undergraduate nursing students, she has interest in research and has attended several conferences both international and National. Ongoing research projects include: Determinate of prostate cancer screening uptake among men in Calabar; the preliminary findings still in progress. Mrs. Osuchukwu is a member of the following professional associations: National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNAM), National Association of Pediatric Nurses - Nigeria Chapter (NAPN), Hospic and Palliative Care Association of Nigeria (HPCAN) and she is a fellow of West African College of Nursing. She has been an examiner to the nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria (N&MCN) since 2004 till date. She is the secretary to Ruth group, Diocese of Calabar, Anglican Communion till date. She is also a member of Calabar Sport, Calabar. Easter Osuchukwu is visible on the Database/Research gate with five citations. She had published over eighteen scholarly papers in National and International journals and had presented some papers at scientific conferences and meetings within and outside Nigeria. She enjoys sport (Table Tennis) and loves Children.
