About Prof. Orok Esu Oyo-Ita

Dr. Orok Esu Oyo-Ita is an Associate Professor with the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar and had his University education in the university of Lagos and University of Calabar were he obtain his M.Sc. and Ph. D in pharmaceutical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry respectively. He has taught, supervised many post graduate students and carried out research in the field of Environmental/Organic Geochemistry for the past 16 years. His current research interest are in the use of molecular tracers in understanding paleo-environmental conditions and paleo-climate with the view of predicting future environmental conditions and climate change as well as the use of pyroyzed petroleum in contaminated environment. Orok Esu Oyo-Ita is fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and has received outstanding national awards in Education. He is a recipient of the Best Session Paper Presentation Award in an international conference organized by Institute of Biological, Chemical Environmental Science in London. He has to his credit 26 scholarly publications, most of which are in reputed international Journals. Orok has attended and presented papers in workshop/conference both locally and internationally. He is a member of many professional societies and reviewer/editorial member of Environmental Monitoring Assessment(Springer), Marine Chemistry and Science of the Total Environment (Elsevier). He is also a lead Guest Editor to Journal of Earth Science and Climate Change. He is married and the marriage is blessed with three lovely kids.
