About Dr. Omang Achoda Thomas

Dr Achoda Thomas Omang is an academic staff in the Department of Sociology, University of Calabar. He joined the University in 2014 after successfully completing a PhD programme in Rural Development and Management Studies from the China Agricultural University, Beijing in 2013. Dr Omang is a beneficiary of the Chinese Government Scholarship for Students from Developing Countries (2008-2010). He is also a beneficiary of the Beijing Government Scholarship (2010-2013). Achoda Thomas is presently serving his Department as Examinations Officer, Academic Adviser and also a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences Misconduct Committee. Dr. Omang has been teaching and contributing to the graduation of undergraduate students since joining the University. His main area of research is development sociology. He has published several journal articles in both local and foreign journals.
