About Dr. Olanrewaju Salimon Bello

Dr. Olanrewaju Salimon Bello is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar, Cross River State. He obtained his first degree from the Department of Crop Production,College of Agriculture, in then Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye and now Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye with a B. Agric. JHons (Crop Production). Dr. Olanrewaju Salimon Bello got his M.Sc. (Soil Microbiology) and Ph.D (Soil Microbiology) from the Department of Agronomy, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is a well-known member of Soil Science Society of Nigeria, International Union of Soil Science, World Association of Soil and Water Conservation and has appeared as participant at the World Congress of Soil Science for twenty-one years. Dr. Bello joined the University of Calabar in August, 2005 as a lecturer in soil microbiology at a Lecturer I level after having worked in two other Universities in Nigeria. On his assumption of duty, he was granted a post-doctoral fellowship in South Africa to further his research in the area of soil Microbiology. His last sabbatical was in the University of South Australia, Mawson Lake Campus, in Adelaide under a disguished CRCCARE grant sponsorship in Australia. He has published over 31 article in reputable journals both (international and local) many of which are indexed in Thompson Reuters, Scopus , Scimago and Google Scholars. His research interests are in soil Microbiology, Agronomy, Biological Nitrogen Fixation, Study of Soil Biological Activities and actions that affects Soil Fertility for Agricultural Crop Production . He is a reviewer and editor in many local and international journals in the area of Agriculture and Soil Science all over the world. Dr. Olanrewaju Salimon Bello was a Head of Department, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management; a senate representative and Faculty representative in many faculties in the University of Calabar.
