About Dr. Okokon Ita Ita

Dr. Okokon Ita is a medical doctor and a fellow of the national postgraduate medical college of Nigeria in medical microbiology. He received post-fellowship training in the application of molecular techniques in clinical microbiology, in the Medical Research Council in the Gambia. In 2015 he joined the faculty of the department of medical microbiology and parasitology at the University of Calabar where he teaches courses on malaria, sepsis and antibiotic stewardship. His research interest is in infection prevention and control. He has attended many conferences including: the 3rd NCDC/NFELTP annual scientific conference in Abuja, Nigeria, the 2017 annual scientific conference of the Nigerian Medical Association in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria and the 17th International Congress on Infectious Diseases in Hyderabad, India. He has published 21 scientific papers and 2 conference presentations.
