About Dr. Ofonime Mark Ogba

Dr Ofonime Ogba started work in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in 1997. She transferred her services to the University of Calabar as a Lecturer I in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science in 2013. She was promoted Senior Lecturer in 2016. Dr Ogba holds a B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology obtained from the University of Calabar in 1994, M.Sc. degree in Medial Microbiology/Parasitology from University of Calabar (2003) and PhD in Medical Microbiology/Parasitology with Medical Mycology as area of Specialization in 2012. She has been teaching, mentoring, researching and consequently, contributing to the graduation of students. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised many graduate students and several undergraduate students. Dr Ogba has attended several international and local conferences where she presented papers. She has successfully published many articles in peer reviewed academic journals in her area. Dr Ofonime Ogba has served the University in several capacities including Examinations Officer and Chairman, Department of Medical laboratory Science Graduate Programme. As a seasoned academic, Dr Ogba has received several grants and awards including Tetfund Research grant for conference attendance (2017/2018), Wellcome Trust Scholarship, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital Professional Development Grant for General Management Training in Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Topo, Badagry in 2012. Dr Ofonime Ogba is a member of several professional bodies including Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, American Society of Microbiology, International Society of Human and Animal Mycology, Nigeria Cancer Society and Microbiology Society, UK. Dr Ogba is happily married. .
