About Dr. Ofem Egbe Enang

Dr Ofem Enang is a graduate of Harvard Medical School in Clinical Research with Clinical Trial Concentration; Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Endocrinology (FMCP); Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE); Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Lagos.He has been in medical practice for over 25 years, within which time he has been involved with training medical students and Resident doctors in Nigeria. He graduated with MBBch in 1992 from the University of Calabar. Currently, he is Senior Lecturer in Internal Medicine at the University of Calabar and Honorary Consultant Physician/Endocrinologist with the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar. Nigeria. He also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC) in charge of Training and Research.He was formerly President, Calabar University Medical Students’ Association (CUMSA), President, Association of Resident Doctors (ARD-UCTH), National President, National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Cross River State. He is 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association for 2018-2020 He was appointed a Member of the Board of Management of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo and served between May, 2013 and July, 2016. His primary research interest is Diabetes and Obesity with secondary interest in General Endocrinology. He has authored papers in peer reviewed journals including the Prevalence of Dysglycaemia in Calabar among other papers.
