About Dr. Veronica Ebi Odey

Dr Veronica Ebi Odey was born on December 30, 1953, at Ogoja in the then Ogoja Local Government Area, Northern Senatorial District in South-South, Nigeria. She holds the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), of the UNICROSS, Uyo now in Akwa Ibom State. She also studied at the University of Calabar, Calabar - Nigeria and at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée, Université de Franche-Comté, Besançon - France. She holds an MPA, an MA and a Ph.D in French Language. She is currently a Senior Lecturer with twenty-two (22) years of teaching and administrative experience in Tertiary Institutions like the Cross River State College of Education Akamkpa, the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH). She has also served as Head of Department in both Institutions and in the University of Calabar as member of the University Senate. She is a researcher and facilitator for the UBEC/ SUBEB refresher workshops for teachers in Cross River State. She has participated in several workshops organized by this body as facilitator and resource person. She has served the University in several committees and is currently the Deputy Director ICT of the University of Calabar. She has been a Vice Chairman/ Supervisor for works in Yala Local Government Council of Cross River State, as an appointee of the then Military Governor, Commander Osondu. Her research interest include: The teaching of Language with a bias for French Language; Methods of teaching French/ other Languages as a foreign Language and facilitating the teaching and learning of Languages. She is happily married with six children.
