About Dr. Mowang Dominic Awam

Dr Dominic Awam Mowang holds a Ph.D degree in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. He has been lecturing in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology for about six years now. He had his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Zoology and went on to specialize (M.Sc and Ph.D) in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology in the same University. He is currently lecturer II in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Zoology, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. He has initiated and participated in several Research Programs in his field of study and has mentored, supervised several undergraduate students in and out the University. Dr Dominic Mowang is currently researching on the implication of thiocyanate in iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) in Obanliku and Calabar South Local Government Areas, Cross River State, Nigeria. He has served as a Microscopist in World Health Organization Eradication of Onchocerciasis in Nigeria from 2012 to 2014. He has served as student adviser and examination Officer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology, University of Calabar, Calabar. Dr Dominic Mowang has over fifteen (15) articles in local and international journals. He has attended and presented papers in several conferences in and outside Nigeria.
