About Dr. Kingsley Bekom Abang

Dr Kingsley Bekom Abang is currently a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations, University of Calabar following the conversion of his appointment to academics in April 25, 2017. He has been in the services of the University since 1997 as a classroom teacher in the Secondary School unit until November, 2013 when the appointment was merged to the main stream. Former Principal, Unical International Demonstration Secondary School (2011-2017); Graduate Assistant, Cross River University of Technology (2002-2004) and Teaching appointment with Cross River State Government (1993-1994). He holds a B.Ed. degree in Special Education and Religion from the University of Calabar, Calabar in 1996, M.Ed. degree in Educational Psychology (2004) and Ph.D in Educational Psychology from the University of Calabar in 2016. Since joining the University, he has been teaching, researching and mentoring students. Mr Abang is a member of Association for Childhood Educators Nigeria, Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologists and Counseling Association of Nigeria. He has served the University in various capacities including member of the Local Organizing Committee, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, 8th Annual Conference 11th – 14th September, 2018; member, Local Organizing Committee, Association of Childhood Educators Nigeria’s 5th National Conference, University of Calabar. He was the Review Panel member of the Cross River State of Nigeria Primary School Book Writing & Review Committee in 2005. Mr Abang has attended and presented many papers in both local and international conferences, workshops, seminars and symposia. He is married with children.
