About Dr. Kenneth Ogar Inaku

Dr. Kenneth Ogar Inaku joined the services of the University of Calabar on the 25th of February 2014 as a Lecturer 1 in the department of Chemical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine. He holds and MBBCH degree which he obtained from the same University in 2003. He is a Fellow of Faculty of Pathology of The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria which he was awarded in December 2013. He is a recipient of scholarship awards from Mobile Producing Nigeria Unlimited as an undergraduate in Medicine from 1996 to 2003 and the Cross River State Ministry of Education Postgraduate Scholarship from 2006 to 2012. He lectures in the Department of Chemical Pathology and is a Part time lecturer to the department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria. Dr. Inaku has published over 15 articles in peer review journals and is a reviewer to some high impact journals including the Nigerian Journal of Medicine among others. He has mentored junior resident doctors in various specialties and is presently supervising Part II candidates in Paediatrics, Chemical Pathology and Psychiatry. He has attended many conferences both locally and internationally and has presented many posters and oral research. His research interests are in Lipidology, Hepatology and Diabetes Mellitus. He is presently collaborating with international bodies such 54 Afrigen as co-primary Investigator in unlocking the African genome among Africans with metabolic disorders. He is a member of various professional associations including Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Association of Clinical Chemists of Nigeria, Nigerian Medical Association etc. Dr. Inaku is the founder of Center for Prevention of Infections and Noncommunicable Diseases (CPIND) a nongovernmental organization in Nigeria which has been involved in screening, advocacy, diagnosing and preventing hepatitis B and C viruses among our populations.
