About Dr. Josiah Nwabueze Obiefuna

Dr. Josiah N. Obiefuna is an academic staff in the Department of Geography and Environmental Science, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He joined the services of the University in September, 2008 as Graduate Assistant. He was promoted to the rank of Lecturer II in 201+6. He is a geographer, an environmentalist, an urban development planning specialist, as well as an ICT enthusiast and practitioner. He holds a University Diploma in Applied Economics (2000) and a B.Sc. degree in Geography and Regional Planning (2006) from the prestigious University of Calabar. He was awarded M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in Geography and Environmental Science, specialising in Urban Development Planning in 2012 and 2017 respectively. Dr Obiefuna has attended many training courses in contemporary issues including ICT (System Cloning, Networking, Repair and Maintenance, Desktop Publishing, Data Processing and Elementary Programming), Geospatial Intelligence/Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing. He has also attended trainings on People Management I and II organized by DFID’s Capacity Building for Decentralized Development project in collaboration with Living Earth Nigeria Foundation and NKUM Associates of Ghana. Dr Josiah Obiefuna has been teaching, mentoring, researching and contributing to the graduation of students in the University. Dr Obiefuna has authored and co-authored on several articles in both learned foreign and national journals. Dr. Obiefuna is an ICT Advisory Personnel to UniCal Graduate School (since 2013). He is a Member of UniCal Graduate School`s Digital Library Management Committee (since 2014). A member of Graduate School`s Research and External Linkages Committee (since 2014).
