About Dr. Iwuchukwu Godwin Chinaedu

Iwuchukwu, Godwin C.S. was employed as lecturer 2 into the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies in August, 2006 with a Ph.D in Linguistics (University of Calabar),Postgraduate Diploma in Policy Studies and Administration. Presently, an Associate Professor, Member of Senate, representing Faculty of Arts, also a member of World Congress of African Linguists (WOCAL); National Association for Research and Development (NARD); Linguistics Association of Nigeria (LAN); Association of Nigerian Languages Teachers (ANALT) and African Council for Communication Education (ACCE). He was editor, International Journal of Linguistics and Communication Studies, University of Calabar 2014-2016(IJLC Vol. 3/1, 3/2). He was the acting Head of Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies from 1st October 2014 to 30th September, 2016. His research interest focuses onLanguage and Communication, Sociolinguistics, and Applied Linguistics with publications in both local and international journals. He has attended local and internationalConferences and presented papers in Universities of Botswana, San Antonio, Texas, USA; Leggon, Ghana; Universiti Saint Malay, Malaysia, Buea Cameroon, etc. He is a recipient of the 2013 Association of Common Wealth Universities ( ACU) London, Early Career Research Award/Grant worth £2,000. Iwuchukwu, teaches, mentors and supervises, research at all levels of university degrees (Undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D). He has produced 2 Ph.Ds and 10 Masters as well as a host of others currently undergoing mentorship. He has presently put up a proposal with TEFUND for funding ofa N19millon research in the university on the Cross River State indigenous languages management project. He has been a visiting scholar (Adjunct) as an Associate Professor at the Department of Mass Communication, Cross River University of Technology, Calabar for more than half a decade.
