About Mrs. Ethel Ohanya Inyang

Mrs. Ethel Ohanya Inyang, started her career as an audit assistant with one of the “big four” audit firms, Deloitte, Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2009. She was promoted to the position of Semi Senior Auditor she was in that position until 2011 when she left for the United Kingdom to pursue a masters degree. In May 2013, she joined the University of Calabar as an Assistant lecturer and was promoted to the rank of lecture II by 2016. She is currently a PhD student at the renowned University of Nigeria Nsukka. She holds a master’s degree in Corporate strategy and governance from the prestigious University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, from Benson Idahosa University Benin, Nigeria. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountant (ACCA). She was awarded the overall best graduating student in the faculty of management science as well as best graduating student in the department of accounting from Benson Idahosa University in 2007. Her area of expertise and teaching includes; financial accounting, regulatory framework and reporting, corporate governance and ethics as well as auditing. She has published research papers in international peer reviewed journals including, the international journal of business and management (IJBM), and the scholars journal of economics, business and management. She has also attended a couple of conferences including the Accounting and finance research association (AFRA) where she presented papers. She is involved in a number of outreach and charity projects. She is currently the president of the Association of Precious Pearls, a non-government association with the aim of making a positive impact in the society and whose focus is on improving the quality of life and education of children between the ages of 3-18 years. She is also a member of the Outreach Unit of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Chaplaincy. She volunteered for Hope Nottingham between 2011 and 2012, to provide carpets for homes in Nottingham, United Kingdom. She is also a member of the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria. Ethel is happily married to her childhood sweetheart and their marriage is blessed with three lovely kids.
