About Dr. Felix Ukpai Ogban

Dr. Felix Ukpai Ogban was born on the 1st of January, 1974 at Ikun, in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State of Nigeria. He attended the New Netim Primary School, Odukpani. In 1983, he wrote and passed his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) Examination and moved on to Ubaghara High School Ikun, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State for his secondary education (1983). In 1989, he wrote and passed his West African School Certificate (WASC) examination and proceeded for his university education. In a bid to wait for the release of his withheld Chemistry, he proceeded to the College of Education Akamkpa for an IJMB programme Between 1991 - 1992. He then enrolled for a three years Diploma in Computer science programme of the University of Calabar between 1992 and 1996. He had a direct entry admission into the then Department of Maths/ Stats. / & Computer Science, now Department of Computer Science, where he read Computer Science between 1997 and 2002. By God's Providence, he was posted to the then Unical Computer Centre on special request to serve the Nation for his NYSC service year in the University of Calabar. At the end of his service year, he was employed as a Graduate Assistant in Cross Rivers State University of Technology Calabar where he worked for about seven months. In accomplishment of the special request to serve in the University of Calabar, Ogban was employed as a Systems/ programmer Analyst in the University of Calabar Computer Centre in 2003. A position he held for three years before he was converted to an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Maths/ Stats. / and Computer Science. Between 2003 and 2006, Ogban bagged his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt. And between 2008 and 2013, he Completed his Ph.D. programme in the same University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt. Dr. Ogban is a member of several professional Organizations such as: IEEE, Oracle Users Group (OUAG), Computer Professional of Nigeria (CPN), Computer Society of Nigeria (CSN), International Association of Engineers (IAENG) to mention a few. He has several Academic publications in reputable journals to his credit. He is Currently tipped to the rank of a Senior Lecturer come October first 2017 in the Department of Computer Science, University of Calabar, Calabar. Born a Christian, Married to One wife with two sons and a lovely girl.
