About Dr. Felix Onen Eteng

Born in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, he was employed in the University of Calabar, Nigeria in October 1991 as a Graduate Assistant having graduated as one of the best students in the Department of Political Science. He is currently an Associate professor in the Department of Public Administration, University of Calabar. He began his primary school education in St. Mary’s Primary school Ugep in 1970 and completed with a First School Leaving Certificate in 1975. He attended Community Secondary School, Ugep from 1975 to 1981. In October, 1981, he was admitted into the Department of Political Science, University of Calabar for a B.Sc (Hons) programme and graduated in 1985. In 1992, he enrolled into an MPA (with Thesis) programme in the University of Calabar and graduated in 1997. In 2009, he enrolled into a Ph.D programme in the University and completed in 2015. He was the Head of Department (HOD) of the Department of Public Administration, University of Calabar, Nigeria from 2016 to 2018. In 2016, he was awarded the Fellow of Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration, Lagos, Nigeria. He held several academic and administrative positions in the University including Member of the Governing Board of the University of Calabar Center for General Studies. In 2017, he had a leadership award by the University of Calabar Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE). He is a Co-editor of the book titled, Nigeria: Citizenship Education (2012) published by A.A.U. Vitalis publishers (Aba), Nigeria. Also, He is a Co-editor of Government for Senior Secondary Schools (2005), Books 1,2,3 by Macmillian Publishers (Ibadan), Nigeria. He has both International and National Conferences, and has successfully supervised six (6) Ph.D students and eleven (11) M.Sc. students. He has also supervised many undergraduate students at both the B.Sc and BPA programmes. He has several book chapters and journal publications in Local and International journals. He is married with children. .
