About Dr. Felicia Lukpata Ekwok

Dr Felicia Ekwok Lukpata is an academic staff in the Department of Nursing Science, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2010 as an Academic Technologist and was later converted to the academic cadre in 2017 as a Lecturer I. She holds a Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNSc) degree awarded by the University of Calabar in 2002, Masters degree in Medical Sociology from the University of Calabar (2012) and a Ph.D degree in Medical Sociology from the University of Calabar (2017). She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2008. Dr Mrs Felicia Lukpata is a registered nurse and midwife. She was awarded a certificate in Midwifery by the School of Midwifery, Moniaya, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State in 1987. She later proceeded to School of Nursing, Itigidi, Abi Local Government Area, Cross River State and was awarded a certificate in General Nursing in 1990. Before joining the services of the University of Calabar, Dr Lukpata served as Nurse Tutor in the Cross River State School of Nursing, Calabar between 2006 and 2010. Dr Lukpata’s main area of specialization is Nursing Education. Since joining the University, she has been teaching, mentoring and supervising students. She has published over fifteen journal articles spread across both local and international peer review journals. Dr Lukpata has been attending both local and international conferences where she made useful contributions. She has also served the University in other capacities including Examinations Officer and Vice Chairman, Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences Examinations Vetting Committee. She is a member of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives and a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing. She is happily married.
