About Dr. Etuk Mfon Essien

Dr. (Mrs) Mfon Essien Etuk is a Senior Lecturer in the Library Department, University of Calabar, Calabar. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (1975), Master of Library Science (1978), PGDM (1991), MBA (1996) and Doctor of Philosophy in Library and Information Science (2006). She assumed duty with the University of Calabar in 1980 and has worked in all divisions of the Library and is teaching in the Department of Library and Information Science of the University. In 2011, she was appointed the Pioneer University Librarian of Akwa Ibom State University. She has authored twenty journal articles and 7 chapters in books, her area of specialization are library and information science and library administration. She has attended 30 Conferences with paper presentations. She has served the library as Head of Readers Services Division, Head Processing Division, Head Resources Development Division and have also acted for the University of Calabar Librarian since the 1990s whenever the University Librarian would be absent from campus. She has supervised several undergraduate project, 2 Masters degree thesis and 3 Doctorate dissertations.
