About Dr. Etim Caroline Asuquo

Evang. Dr. Caroline Asuquo Etim, JP, was born on the 23rd February, 1957 and a Princess by birth of the Oqua Royal Family in Ikpai Ohom Qua Clan, Calabar Municipality. She had her primary education at the St. Matthew’s (ANG.) Primary School, Iru, Lagos State, with a Merit in the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1968. She had her teacher training at the erstwhile Teacher’s Training College (T.T.C) Ikot Ansa, Calabar where she obtained Teacher’s Grade II Certificate in 1982. She is academically, a Musicologist who hold a Doctorate Degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Ibadan. She had taught at the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels during her career as an Educationist. She held the following posts: • Subject Teacher • Senior Lecturer • Head of Department of Music • Choir Director • Supervisor for Education 2008-2010 • Resource person for many church Choirs within and outside Cross River State. • She is a recipient of many awards • She ministers as soloist at various crusades, outreaches and churches. • An Adviser to the Lads and Lasses Brigade of the African Church, Diocese of Calabar. • She was an Adviser to the Youths of the Red Cross Society, Calabar Municipality. • Chairman, Red Cross Society, Calabar Municipality. • Immediate past Vice Chairman of Calabar Municipality Evang. Dr. Caroline A. Etim, JP, retired from the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa in 2013.
