About Prof. Etie Ben Akpan

Akpan, Etie Ben is a professor of Palaeontology/Marine Ecology in the Faculty of physical Sciences, University of Calabar. He holds a Ph.D from the University of Glasgow, Scotland (1981). He was the Head of Department of Geology (1992 – 1993 and 1997 - 2000). He is the first and foremost Nigerian ichnologist. His current research is on the reconstruction of Cretaceous palaeoenvironment of the Calabar Flank SE Nigeria and ecological studies of the adjacent coastal environments.
