About Dr. Esther Patrick Archibong

Dr Archibong, Esther Patrick is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences. University of Calabar, Calabar. She holds a PhD in Medical Sociology from the University of Calabar and PgCert.(Social Work) from University of Applied Sciences, Ede, Netherlands, Post graduate cert(Gender and Sexuality) University of Amsterdam - Netherlands. She is NUFFIC Fellow, Member of Holland Alumni Network and International AIDS Society (IAS), Switzerland. Member of Forum for African Women Educationalist in Nigeria (FAWEN), Member, Nigerian Sociological Society (NSS), Member Nigerian Association of Social Workers (NASOW). She has served as Social Science Faculty Representative (Institute of Education), Chairman of the Departmental Graduate Board Committee 2017-2021 and is currently the Coordinator of Social Work CES Programme in the Department. In addition, she is a Research Assistant with WHO, PROJECT ALERT on Gender –based violence (Women with disability). She has attended and presented papers at various local and international academic conferences. Her research interest includes: Gender and Women's Health.
