About Dr. Dorathy Chioma Okpokam

Dr. Dorathy Chioma Okpokam is a lecturer 1 in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Calabar who’s Primary Area of Specialization is in Haematology & Blood Group Serology (Immunohematology and Homeostasis). She joined the services of the University in 2005 but before then she had worked with several organisations such as Fondoz Specialist Centre, Lagos (Medical laboratory Scientist),Don-Helens Pharmacetical Company, Lagos (Drug Marketer) and Adonai Medical Centre, Surulere, Lagos (Med. laboratory Scientist in-charge). She obtained her Associate Institute of Medical Laboratory Science (AIMLS) in 2002, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Medical Laboratory Science in 2006, both from the prestigious University of Calabar and also went further to attain a Masters Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (M.Sc) from the University of Calabar in 2010 and also a Ph.D in 2015 from the same University. She is a member of some many learned societies like Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), National Association of Academic Technology (NAAT), Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) CRS Branch, Federation of African Medical Laboratory Scientist (FAMLS) and Physiological Society of Nigeria (PSN). She has graced the academic walls globally with several local and foreign journals. She has taught and supervised project works for both Post Graduate and Under Graduate Students. She is proficient in the use of several computer packages such as Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, Microsoft power point and Statistical packages. She is married with children.
