About Dr. Comfort Robert Etor

Dr. (Mrs) Comfort R. Etor was employed on the 15th of October 2007 as Lecturer II in the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, University of Calabar. She obtained her Teachers’ Grade II Certificate in 1979 from Government Teachers’ Training College, Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State. Dr Etor also holds an Associateship Certificate in Education obtained in 1988, B. Ed. degree in Elementary Education (1995), M. Ed. degree in Educational Administration and Planning (2002) and Ph.D degree in Educational Administration and Planning (2006), all from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She has been teaching courses at all levels and also making immense contributions to the graduation of students in the University. Mrs Etor has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten graduate students’ theses. She has served her Department, Faculty and the University at large in various capacities including having served as Examinations Officer for Direct Entry and UME between 2007 and 2009; Coordinator, CES Programme and their Examinations Officer from 2010 to 2011 and Coordinator, Sandwich Programme in the Department from 2015 to 2017. She was the Department Students’ Fellowship/Ethics Committee Chairperson between 2014 and 2017; member, Results and Thesis Vetting Committee in Graduate School, University of Calabar in 2016; member, Publications and Research Committee in the Faculty of Education, University of Calabar from 2017 to 2018. Finally, she is a serving member of the Faculty of Education Academic Mentorship and Publications Committee from 2018 till date. Dr Etor is a regular participant in many academic conferences where she has presenting papers. Most of her works have been published in conference proceedings, book chapters and reputable local and foreign peer review journals. She is a registered member of Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria; member, Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning; member, Common Wealth Council for Educational Administration and Management; member, Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa and member, European Centre for Research Training and Development.
