About Dr. Hilda Chia Eta

Dr Eta Hilda joined the services of the University of Calabar, in the rank of Lecturer II in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in 2016. She holds a B.Agric. (Agronomy) degree from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria in 1999. She was latter awarded M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development by the same University in 2000. In 2015, she obtained a PhD degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Dr Eta’s research focus is in Environmental Extension and general issues in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. During the time spent in the University system, Dr Eta has been teaching, researching and mentoring thereby contributing to the growth of the University. She has successfully supervised eight undergraduate students. She has attended and presented a paper in a locally organized professional conference. Dr Eta has published eight journal articles in both local and international peer reviewed academic journals. She has served her Department, Faculty and University in several capacities as the examination officer from 2016 to 2018. Currently, she is the Chairman, Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology Graduate Committee. She is a member of the quality assurance committee of her department and is a representative of the Faculty Board of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management to the Faculty of Management Sciences Board, University of Calabar. She is a member of Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria. She is happily married.
