About Dr. Bernedette Umali Cornelius-Ukpepi

Dr (Mrs.) B. U. Cornelius-Ukpepi is an Associate Professor of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar. An Experienced Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Lecturing, Research and Teaching, Collaborative Learning, Curriculum Development, Qualitative Research, Public Speaking, and Teacher Training. Strong education professional with Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) Distinction in Agricultural Education (double major) from Federal College of education, Obudu, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), M.Ed Ph.D focused in Curriculum and Instruction/ Elementary Education from University of Calabar. She is a member of many professional bodies such as World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), Reading Association of Nigeria (RAN) and Organization Mondiale Pour L’Education Pre-Scholaire (World Organization for Early Childhood Education). Dr B. U. Cornelius-Ukpepi was staff adviser/ examination officer for social science unit for eight years, Secretary of Faculty of Education monthly seminar committee and Pioneer Acting Head of Department of Social Science Education 2015-2017. Presently she is a member of Faculty of Education Accreditation Committee, Faculty of Education Senate representative and Faculty of Education Teaching Practice Coordinator and Member of visibility committee department of Curriculum and Teaching. Dr B. U. Cornelius-Ukpepi is widely published. As of now, she has authored one textbook, ( 5) book chapters, 45 research papers in many reputable national and international journals and 22 research papers presented at national and international conferences in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya , USA. She has also successfully supervised two Ph. D theses as first supervisor and seven master theses as sole supervisor with two PGDE projects including countless undergraduate projects. At the moment, she acts as an external examiner to adjudicate Ph.D theses for Tamilnadu Teacher Education University and Bharathiar University all in India.
