About Dr. Babatunde Abisoye Lawal

Dr. Babatunde A. A. S. Lawal joined the services of the University of Calabar in 1992 as Graduateate Assistant in the Departmeof of Pharmacology. He attended the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria where he was awarded Ph.D.h.D degree in Pharmacology in 2009, M.Sc. degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria (1992), and B. Sc. degree in Pharmacology from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in 1988. Since joining the University, Dr Lawal has been deeply committed to teaching, mentoring, research and community services. He has successfully supervised and co-supervised over nine graduate students’ thesis. He has authored and co-authored over published over fifteen journal articles in both local and international peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, Dr BAS Lawal has been a regular participant in many local and foreign conferences particularly those organized by the West African Society of Pharmacology, International Union of Pharmacology and Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where he made presentations and other useful contributions to knowledge. He, in collaboration with colleagues, won the World Bank-Science and Technology Education Post-Basic grant for the study of useful antimalarials Plants from Nigeria in 2009. Dr BAS Lawal is a member of many professional associations including the West African Society of Pharmacology, the International Network on Rational Use of Drugs, the Society of Medicinal Plant Research, and the Biopesticide Society of Nigeria. He presently working of computational Pharmacology.
