About Dr. Augustine Inyang Bassey

Dr. Augustine Inyang Bassey joined the University of Calabar on the 21st of February, 2019 as a lecturer ll in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Science, University of Calabar. He had his elementary education in his home town (Usumutong, Abi LGA) and Obudu LGA both in Cross River State. He obtained his B.Sc Hons. in Political Science Education at the University of Calabar, Masters in Gender Studies (Sociology) and PhD in Sociology at the University of Venda, Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province, South Africa. Dr. A. I. Bassey since being employed at the University of Calabar has been passionate in carrying out his lecturing duties and collaborating with colleagues on research outputs. While studying in the Republic of South Africa, he was also engaged as a lecturer with the Department of Sociology from 2013 to 2018. He has received several research awards and has publish a good number of academic journals with reputable publishers. His drive is to become a professor in development sociology.
