About Dr. Anthonia Inaja Emmanuel

Dr. (Mrs) Anthonia Emmanuel Inaja is presently an Associate Professor of Guidance and Counselling in the Department of Guidance and Counselling, University of Calabar.  She joined the University of Calabar as a Graduate Assistant in July 6th, 1993, with Second-Class Upper Division.

She is a member of the following learned societies: Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), American Counselling Association (ACA), World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) and American Psychological Association (APA).

She has held the following academic responsibilities: Chairman, Departmental Welfare Committee, Member, Disciplinary Committee, Course Adviser/Examination Officer; Secretary of the Departmental Graduate Board, HOD, Department of Guidance and Counselling University of Calabar and presently Deputy Director Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence, University of Calabar.

She has also served as Resource Person in Retraining of Primary and Secondary School Teachers at Ikom Cross River State in 2005 and 2006 respectively, also resource person in more than five secondary schools in Cross River State on various topics, Monitoring Officer National Examination Council (NECO) 2008 – 2014.  Research Team Leader Jolly Phonics, Read and Write Now, Literacy on Synthetic Phonics from 2009 to date. Currently, She is the Chairman, Universal Learning Solution Initiative (ULSI) Board of Trustees. She has supervised over 10 thesis in both Masters and Ph.D. Currently she is writing a text book on teenage counselling and also working on Masters and Ph.D. thesis.

She has attended over 35 conferences both locally and internationally from which about 3 were sponsored by Tetfund grant.
