About Dr. Akuegwu Basil Azubuike

Basil Azubuike Akuegwu holds B.Ed (H0ns) Elementary Education, M.Ed Educational Administration and Planning and Ph.D degree in Administration in Higher Education. He is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria where he teaches courses in Educational Management, Leadership and Studies in Higher Education at Undergraduate and Graduate levels. He is a consummate researcher with keen interest in Studies in Higher Education, Educational Leadership and Management, Education and Gender Issues, Educational Development, Quality Assurance, Educational Finance, Entrepreneurship Education and so on. Dr Akuegwu has attended and presented papers in 48 learned conferences locally and internationally which culminated in his publishing widely in these areas in reputable Journals at local and foreign levels. He also has some published chapters in edited books to his credit. Altogether, he has 79 publications made up of 2 Edited Books, 27 papers in Local Journals, 26 in Foreign Journals, 7 Foreign Conference Proceedings, 3 Local Conference Proceedings, 13 Book Chapters and 1 paper accepted for publication. Dr. Akuegwu has successfully supervised 13 Graduate Students (8 Masters and 5 Ph.Ds). In addition, he in collaboration with Prof (Mrs) Grace Mbipom won a grant in 2007 to conduct a research titled “Entrepreneurial Studies in Universities and the promotion of Employment Peace in Nigeria”. He also won some awards and serves as Editorial Board Member to some reputable journals locally and internationally. He is a member of professional organisations such as Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP), Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON), Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management (CCEAM), Higher Education Research and Policy Network (HERPNET) and Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
