About Dr. Abosede Abimbola Usoro

Dr Abosede Abimbola Usoro, currently a Senior Lecturer, has been a college teacher and a banker before joining the services of the University of Calabar in 2004. She served the then Nigeria Arab Bank (later Assurance Bank) as Branch Operations Manager between 1993 and 2002. On 30th March, she assumed duty in University of Calabar as an Assistant Lecturer and has risen to the rank of Senior Lecturer. Dr Abosede Usoro obtained her first degree in Economics from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, in 1982, her Masters in Business Administration as well as Ph.D from University of Calabar in 1993 and 20014, respectively. She has contributed to the moulding of many graduated students who are doing very well in various fields of endeavours some of whom today are consultants, engineers, pilots, doctors, managers and entrepreneurs. She has contributed in several academic conferences and has more than eighteen publications in both local and international peer review journals to her credit. Dr Usoro has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten graduate students. She is a member of the Academy of Management and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Dr Abosede has served her Department as both undergraduate and postgraduate program coordinator, member of committees such as accreditation and quality control committees and speaker at student fora. Part of her community service includes Faculty representation in the University Senate and in another Faculty as well as Examinations Officer. She is a committed Christian who has served and reached out to students and other members of the University community at various church community oriented activities.
