About Dr. Veronica Nakanda Effiom

Effiom Veronica Nakanda (Nee Osa Aria) Ph.D, hails from Wula community of Eastern Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. She attended St. John Primary School, Wula. From 1977-1982 Where she passed with merit and was admitted into Commercial Secondary School Beteriko, in Eastern Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State from 1982-1987. Because of her excellent performance, she became the girls senior prefect from 1985-1986. She graduated with flying colours in 1987. Effiom Veronica Nakanda proceeded to the College of Education Akamkpa from 1992-1996 to actualize her dreams as an educationist that she is always passionate about. This burning ambition was realized in 1996. Veronica came top as she graduated with 14 points which is an excellent grade that earned her direct entry admission to the great University of Calabar from 1997-1999. While in the University of Calabar, again she performed excellently and came out with a 3.9 grade which is a 2nd class upper division in Education Religious Studies. Her, outstanding performance earned her a lecturing job in the same university. She was employed into the University of Calabar in October 3rd 2000. Effiom, Veronica saw reason to explore other related courses to contribute her quarter to the educational development of her country. By this same year 2000, she got married to the love of her life Mr Innocent Effiom Nakanda. This glorious marriage is blessed with four wonderful children, Blossom, Chosen, David and Fame Nakanda Effiom. Veronica Nakanda in 2002 started her Master’s programme in the same university of Calabar, where she studied Social Studies Education and in 2006 she graduated with excellent grades. Her zeal for knowledge acquisition, self actualization and academic enthusiasm moved her to go in pursued of Ph.D in Social Studies Education in Ebonyi State University from 2008-2012. Effiom Veronica has published within and outside the shores of this country. She has published two reputable text books, six book chapters and edited two books to her credits. She has received different awards form reputable organizations and institutions. Veronica Nakanda has held distinguish positions of responsibilities in the university. She was a coordinator for Educational Technology from 2011-2013, coordinator and examination officer for Environmental Education from 2013-2015 respectively. Effiom Veronica is presently the chairman of graduate board in the department of Social Science Education. She is a senior lecturer in the University of Calabar.
