Dr. (Mrs) Virginia Emmanuel Ironbar is a seasoned scholar and an astute administrator now lecturing in the Department of Continuing Education and Development Studies at the University of Calabar. She joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant and was later converted to academic staff in 2018. She holds a B.Ed in Industrial and Labour Studies (Adult Education) from the University of Calabar in 2006. She was awarded M.Ed and Ph.D. degrees in 2014 and 2018 respectively by the University of Calabar. Since joining the University, she has made positive impacts in rendering services to humanity. Dr (Mrs) Ironbar has been teaching, mentoring, and researching thereby contributing her quota to the development of the Faculty and University. She has attended many conferences and workshops where she made presentations. She has published many journal articles in local and international peer-reviewed journals. She was a member of the Certificate/ Transcript Committee in the Graduate School, University of Calabar. She was also the Unit Head (Secretary) for Faculty of Law, Faculty of Art, and CIWA in the University of Calabar Graduate School. Dr. (Mrs) Virginia Ironbar is a member of many professional bodies including the International Association of Community Development, Nigeria National Council for Adult Education and Teachers; Registration Council of Nigeria. She is married with children.
