About Dr. John Okpa Ukwetang

Dr. John Okpa Ukwetang started his career as a stoke broker in Lagos. He was promoted to the rank of manager in core function and Asset Ltd and was posted to Calabar. His love for academic makes him leave the company and applied as an academic staff in the University of Calabar in 2010 and was latter given an appointment as an Assistant Lecturer after completing his masters degree in the department of environmental education in 2012. He has worked hard and presently promoted to the rank of lecturer II as of the time of this report. Dr. John Okpa Ukwetang was born on the 14th of April, 1979 in Calabar, Cross River State. He started his education at Akim Primary School in 1985 and graduated in 1990 with First Leaving Certificate, he gained admission into the Prestigious Hope Wadell Training Institution in 1999 and obtained his SSCE (WAEC) in 1996. In 1998 he enrolled in the University of Calabar to study Personnel Management in the Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA) where he obtained a Diploma certificate. He latter obtained his direct entry admission in the department of Environmental Education in the University of Calabar and graduated with second class upper in 2008. He enrolled again in the same university for his masters degree in Environmental Education and graduated in 2011. His quite for higher education moved him to enrolled for his Doctorate degree in curriculum studies in the department of curriculum and teaching in the university of Calabar and completed his programme and obtained a Ph.D in curriculum studies (Teacher Education) in 2016. Since his employment in the services of the university, he as been involved in teaching many courses including citizenship education, entrepreneurship education and other courses in the department. Dr. John Okpa Ukwetang also served as a part time lecturer in the department of curriculum studies at the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH) and also a facilitator at the National Open University of Nigeria, Calabar study centre. Dr. John Okpa Ukwetang has attended many conferences both local and international and had many publications in local and foreign journals. He is married with three children.
