Mr Ubong James Essien is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History and International studies, University of Calabar. He holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in History and International studies awarded by the University of Calabar in 2005; an M.A. degree in International History and Diplomacy from the University of Uyo in 2016. His main area of research interest is Nigeriaâ€™s Diplomatic History and African engagement in the global system. Mr Essien has been assisting to teach undergraduate courses in the Department of History and International Studies. He has successfully published a paper in an international peer reviewed journal.
