About Dr. Rose Ekaete Udonwa

Dr. (Mrs.) Rose Ekaette Udonwa holds Ph.D. degree (2010) in Curriculum Studies in Home Economics, M. Ed (2002) in Curriculum Studies, B.Ed. in Home Economics from the University of Calabar and University of Uyo respectively. She also holds NCE (1986) in Education/Home Economics from the University of Uyo. She joined the University of Calabar in 2012 after successfully transferring her services from the Federal Ministry of Education, Inspectorate Division, Calabar, Cross River State where she served meritoriously between 2009 and 2012. She is presently a Lecturer 1 and specializes in Home Economics Education (Curriculum Studies). Since joining the Department of Vocational Education, she has been involved in the teaching of teaching of various courses and supervision of undergraduate thesis. She has served the University of Calabar in various positions including member, Vocational Education Journal Editorial Board from 2013 to 2014, member, Vocational Education Department Welfare Committee; Unit Head, Home Economics Unit, Department of Vocational Education from 2017 till date. She has authored many articles in peer review journals both foreign and local. She has attended numerous conferences both locally and internationally with relevance to her profession and specialization. She is presently the President of the Lady Knight of St. Mulumba (LSM) Nigeria, Calabar Metropolitan Sub-Council.She is certified by the Teachers’ Registration Council (TRC). She is a professional member of the Home Economics Teachers Association of Nigeria (HETAN), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), International Federation of Home Economics (IFHE), Home Economics Council of Nigeria (HECON) and Association of Vocational & Technical Educators of Nigeria (AVTEN). She is happily married to Prof. Ndifreke Udonwa and the union is blessed with children.
