About Dr. Paul Bassey Ekpo

Dr Paul Bassey Ekpo hails from Calabar Municipal Council, Cross River State, Nigeria, employed by the University of Calabar in 1993 as a technical staff and later converted to teaching in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Calabar. He has a Ph.D in Environmental Biology (Pollution and Toxicology), M.Sc in Environmental Biology (Fisheries and Aquaculture), Post graduate Diploma (PGDCZM) in Geology (Intergrated Coastal Zone Management) from the same University. He has taught and carried out various researches in the fields of Environmental Biology, Pollution, Toxicology, Fisheries and Aquaculture for over twenty six years now, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Corporate Affairs and member of the Environmental Society of Nigeria, Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN), Nigeria Institute of Science Technology (ANILST) and many other professional bodies. He lectures both the undergraduate and post-graduate students in different field of courses, also supervises many undergraduate as well as post-graduate students on various research topics, in addition, he has over thirty scholarly publications in reputable International journals. In addition, he attended many workshops and conferences across Nigeria, past and current member of so many committees in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biological Sciences as well as the University of Calabar. He is married to one wife, and the marriage is blessed with three lovely children.
