About Dr. Okokon Okon Effiong

Dr. Okokon Okon Effiong is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, University of Calabar, Calabar. He obtained his First degree in Animal Science at the University of Calabar, Calabar in 2000 and proceeded for his Masters degree in Animal Science at the University of Calabar, Calabar in 2004. He further proceeded and obtained his PhD at the University of Calabar, Calabar, where he specialized in Animal Nutritional Biochemistry in 2010. He has successfully supervised 4 PGD, 1 MSc, 1 PhD candidates and has been deeply involved in teaching, research and community service. He is a recipient of the federal government scholarship award in 2003 and Innovators of Tomorrow (IOT) of the Science and Technology Basic Education (STEPB) grant in 2010. He is a member of Nigerian Society of Animal Production, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science (RAS No:263) and Animal Science Association of Nigeria. He has over 40 publications from both local and international journals as well as conference proceedings with more than 70 citations.
