About Mr. Okang Ntui Ogar

Ogar, Okang Ntui was employed to the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies, University of Calabar, Calabar on 20th October, 2016 as a Graduate Assistant. Ogar holds both a Bachelor's and Masters Degree of Arts in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Calabar, Calabar. Ogar Okang teaches different courses in linguistics which include but not restricted to Phonetics, Phonology, Advanced Composition, Speech Writing, and Public Speaking, Folktales in Cross River Languages, Varieties of Prose Writings in Cross River Languages, Phonology of Cross River Languages, Practical Course in Sound Production and perception, and the linguistic Situation in Africa. Ogar has attended some conferences and has conducted some researches on the following topic: “English and Efik loanwords adaptation in Ejagham, Nutricentical and Nutrients: The role of language in curbing the high risk of unhealthy eating habit”, “Sociolinguistic analysis of communicating public health emergency in Nigeria: The Covid-19 Pandemic” and many others that are ongoing. Ogar has also collaborated with other scholars in Linguistics who including Mr. Ekpe Brownson, Mrs. Mercy Etu, J. T. Tyoh, L. M. Ushuple. Ogar is a member of professional bodies like the Academic Staff Union of the University (ASSU), the Linguistics Association of Nigeria (LAN), and APPA Ogar visible on Research Gate, and has three publications, one individual publication and two which he co-authored with other scholars in linguistics
